Here’s hoping that we get more The Usual Suspects and less Superman Returns
So I can finally geek out in true fashion. Variety has finally come clean with the report that Bryan Singer has signed on to direct a feature version of one of the greatest television shows of the past 10 years - Battlestar Galactica. Introduced as a “complete re-imagination” of the story, the film is going to have a lot of epic shoes to fill (paging Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackoff, Edward James Olmos, Tricia Helfer, ETC ETC ETC).
Although my excitement is currently shooting through the roof, myself, along with droves of other major geeks around the world, are probably also overwhelmed with nerves. Here’s hoping that show producer Ron Moore gets his fingers in it. I’ll reserve major judgement until more information is released, but it’s going to be hard to replace the ace cast. NEEDS MORE MARY MCDONNELL.
And yes, I just re-read what I wrote above and I am completely aware of the extent of how pathetic I am…but thank you for your concern.
