Slowly turning me into a Mad Man

I discovered I was mildly obsessed with mid-century modern style right around the time that Mad Men started airing on TV.  The style represented a new way of life that was so interesting, I couldn’t help but latch onto it.  It also came from growing up in a family that knew their way around an antique gallery (their homes).

When Mad Men came out, Entertainment Weekly did an article on how to “Mad Men your life.”  One of the items they featured was a TWA Travel Poster from the 50s.  I looked up the site that sold them only to find that they were authentic prints going for bazillions of dollars.  So I went the Ebay route.  I picked up about 4 or 5 reprints and I’m slowly collecting them so when I have a place of my own, I can create a mini UN in my living room to express the sense of modern sophistication that I’d like to think my life has…ok, well the modern sophistication I think it should have.

You can find reprints of most of these scattered over Ebay and the internet…or rolled up in random nooks in my room.  I’m wondering if I should spend less time buying travel posters and more time actually traveling.  Ah, the sweet sweet conundrum of my life.
